Pick-up at hotel in Phong Nha or Hue. It will take 2 hours 40 minutes to get to the first site. The trip will pass by the following tourist sites:

 

Vinh Moc Tunnels: Officially called as the Vinh Moc Underground Village. This is the signature tourist site around the DMZ. A system of complicated tunnels in three levels of depth. Tourists will enjoy many historical stories.

Lunch break at Cua Tung beach, the so-called Queen of Beaches in Vietnam.

 

The DMZ (Ben Hai River/Hien Luong Bridge): The Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone was a demilitarized zone in Quang Tri province and at the 17th parallel. The line was meant to serve temporarily as dividing line between the North Vietnam and South Vietnam in 1954. The place includes several key important historical relics such as the border police station, flag tower, loud speakers system (propaganda) among other things.

 

Doc Mieu Firebase and War Cemetery: is considered as the Binoculars of US Army to scan the North and stop any intrusion. Also known as  Alpha 2, Doc Mieu Firebase is a former U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) firebase North of Dong Ha military base in Quang Tri Province. Next to the firebase is a war cemetery where North Vietnamese soldiers are buried. 

 

Quang Tri Museum (Outdoor Display of War Weapons): With a lot of historical information and display items, the Quang Tri Museum is a rich source of history of Quang Tri, especially about the Vietnam War. The museum display various types of war weapons such as fighter jets, tanks, choppers, artillery, etc.

 

Dong Ha Combat Base: A large part of current Dong Ha city used to be the combat base (also referred to as Camp Spillman or Camp Red Devil). Numerous US marine and army units rotated through the base, and several artillery units were based there.

 

Mine Action Visitor Center: Housing exhibits, images, and constantly updated documents and professional tour guide (who speaks English and Vietnamese), the Mine Action Visitor Center provides visitors with information of the devastation of the Vietnam War, its consequences and the recovery from loss, pains and poverty by the people as well as efforts of the government, people, and international organizations to respond to this challenge.
